Omdesign Crafts Exclusive Packaging for Gran Cruz's 130th Anniversary

Gran Cruz, a century-old Port producer, sought to celebrate its historical milestone with a distinctive packaging that reflects the essence of Douro, the cooperage artwork, and the aging process of the wine. The result is a luxurious edition that enhances the quality of their products, history, and values. The packaging features an icon screen painted on the bottle, representing the significance of the black color, and houses a 100YO Very Old Tawny Port.

The bottle is integrated into a wooden structure with a velvety touch. Inside, leather and gold finishes underline the luxury of this project. Every detail serves a specific purpose, from the bartop slot that prevents the bottle from turning or moving, to the cork stopper that preserves the quality of this unique wine. The design is a testament to the slogan, culture, and history of Gran Cruz.

The design process involved the selection of noble materials such as wood, leather, and gold finishes, chosen to demonstrate the exclusivity and expertise of Gran Cruz. A woman silhouette is screen painted on the bottle, representing the iconic 'woman in black' known worldwide. The design project, which started in September 2016 in Porto, Portugal, was completed in August 2017.

Creating a premium bottle and packaging that eternalizes the exclusivity of Gran Cruz's 130 years was a challenge. The goal was to create a unique design with distinctive finishes that adds value to this exclusive project. The result is a luxurious design that highlights the identity, values, and personality of Gran Cruz.
